Addressing party workers after inaugurating the district BJP office in Kannur, Shah said the state government was using police force to challenge the protest by devotees.

BJP president Amit Shah and JDU chief Nitish Kumar held a meeting in New Delhi on Friday to decide the seat sharing formula for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP has lost successive bypolls for the Lok Sabha and the state Lok Sabha elections 2019: Assembly to candidates jointly put up by arch rivals Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party.

Describing the award as a "matter of great joy" and "immense pride for 130 crore Indians", the BJP chief said Modi's efforts towards boosting global cooperation and raising global economic growth have been noted by the awarding committee.  

A statement issued by Goa BJP chief Vinay Tendulkar said, "BJP is fully committed to coalition dharma and mutual trust and respect for constituent parties."

"This tsunami would cover the entire country, including West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala," Shah said.

Taking a dig at Manmohan Singh for slamming PM Narendra Modi over his frequent foreign tours, Amit Shah said that the former PM had actually taken more international trips than Modi.

The opposition parties support the intruders for political gains but for the BJP the country comes first, the BJP president said.

"Atalji (then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee) founded the state and Raman Singh developed it," he said.

Amit Shah referred to an old tweet by his Congress counterpart to take aim at the main Opposition party while accusing it of defaming 'honest' people.

  Recalling the recent successes of the BJP in state elections, Shah said Gandhi should analyse why the Congress tasted defeat in elections after Narendra Modi-led BJP government came to power in the Centre.

Referring to the NRC, Shah said, “The process to evict illegal infiltrators will not stop, irrespective of the Congress’ opposition.”

Amit Shah said that Assam’s BJP government brought National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state and nearly 40 lakh illegal immigrants were identified.
